IM Hygiene includes archival and authorization, the
first components of building Trusted IM. While
many IM Hygiene vendors claim that archival and
authorization control secures IM, without encryption
and authentication, "hygiene" is simply
a process of restricting and limiting IM use.
At Presensoft, it is our goal to enable companies to use IM for all business communications. We believe that archival and authorization are essential to a secure IM management regime, but in order to fully unlock the potential of presence-based communication, IM hygiene must be combined with encryption and authorization technology.
